Microfluidic Device | Straight Micro-channels | Bonded Device | PMMA (Acrylic) | With Acrylic Connectors
This is a PMMA microfluidic device, with four straight channels engraved on it. The device is bonded (closed) using a Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) film with an acrylic top cover.
It can be used for studying fluid properties such as flow characteristics, and interaction between two micro-particles inside the fluid, among other things at a micro-level.
The aspect ratio (width : depth) of the channels is 1:1. PMMA offers good transparency and chemical inertness. However, it is limited by the number of cycles of experimentation on a single device.
For continuous repeatable usage, glass substrates are ideal.
